Announcements 11th-12th August

  1. Senior citizens will meet today after the 10am mass in the school hall.

  2. The systematic visitation of the parish resumes from (tomorrow) Monday, Aug 13 at 7pm.The Fathers will be visiting Community no 2.

  3. Tuesday August 14th is the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Please remember to pray for those prisoners as well as those involved in the Prison Ministry Apostolate.

  4. The Prayer Group welcomes you for Praise and worship followed by a talk by Fr. K. T. Emmanuel. The topic will be “Listening to God in prayer”. All are invited.

  5. Wednesday, August 15th is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and our nation’s Independence Day. It is a day of obligation. Masses as per the Sunday schedule.

  6. On 15th August, the Holy Name Cathedral will host the all-Mumbai “Jericho Prayer Service” from 11.15am to 4.30pm. this will include Praise & Worship, Adoration, Healing Service, Teachings & the Eucharist. The Eucharist will be celebrated at 3pm by His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias. All are invited

Announcements 4th-5th August

  1. Tomorrow/ today is celebrated as Vianney Sunday. We remember to pray for all priests especially those serving in our parish and those who have administered the sacraments to us.

  2. There will be a special Eucharist at 6.30 pm on Sunday 5th August presided over by His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias. This will be followed by a programme in the school hall. We invite you to attend in large numbers.

  3. Envelopes are kept at the doors of the Church for your contribution towards sick & retired priests. Please collect an envelope and drop it with your contribution in the boxes provided for the same.

  4. The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Monday 6th August after the evening mass in the Parlour

  5. Please note that due to the PPC meeting on the same day, the systematic visitation of the parish stands cancelled for Monday 6th August. The visitations will resume the following Monday.

  6. The Prayer Group welcomes you for Praise and worship followed by a talk by Mr. Victor Pereira. The topic will be “My place in the body of Christ”. All are invited.

  4. Padre Pio mass is scheduled for Saturday 4th Aug in the Holy Name high school Conference room at 4 pm

Announcements 21st-22nd July

  1. The parish celebrates Parents’ Day Today/Tomorrow. We thank the Lord for the gift of our Parents. There will be a special mass on Sunday 22nd July at 6.30 pm followed by a programme in the school hall organised by the Sunday School & Confirmation students along with the youth. We regret that due to limited seating capacity, only those who have purchased passes may attend.

  2. As announced earlier, there will be a second collection for “Peter’s Pence” - an annual collection sent to Rome for the needs of the Universal Church.

  3. The Parish Fathers have started a systematic visitation of the Parish om Mondays from 7 pm onwards. The area being visited will be announced in the “Parish Notices for the week”. You will also be given advance notice by your Parish Councillors or core tam members.

  4. This Monday 23rd July 2018, the Parish Fathers will visit Community no. 1 – Gateway of India area from 7 pm onwards.

  5. The Prayer Group welcomes you for a healing service conducted by the Healing & Deliverance ministry of the Archdiocese of Bombay on Tuesday 24th July after the evening Mass. This service will be led by Fr. Ashlyn Chand. All are invited.

Announcements 14th-15th July

  1. The Parish Fathers will be starting a systematic visitation of the Parish every Monday starting from this Monday 16th July, 2018 from 7 pm onwards. The area being visited will be announced in the “Parish Notices for the week”. You will also be given advance notice by your Parish Councillors or core team members.

  2. This Monday 16th July 2018, the Parish Fathers will visit Community no. 1 – Great Western Building area from 7 pm onwards.

  3. In case you haven’t already done so, kindly collect a copy of the Holy Name Record for your family. Copies are placed at all exits and are also available in the Sacristy.

  4. The Caregivers’ support group will meet on Monday 16th July in the Parish Parlour after the evening Mass.

  5. The Prayer Group welcomes you for Praise & Worship followed by a talk by Mrs Leela Moraes on Tuesday 17th July after the 6.30 pm mass. All are invited.

  6. The parish will celebrate Parent’s Day on Sunday 22nd July after the 6.30 pm Mass. Entry passes are available at the Parish office during office hours at a nominal cost of Rs.30/- per pass. The last day for sale of passes is Thursday 19th July, 2018.

  1. Tomorrow / Today is celebrated as “Faith Formation Sunday” in the Archdiocese of Bombay. There will be a special Eucharist at the 8.30 am mass with a blessing and re-commissioning of Catechists. Please remember the Catechists of our parish in your prayer.

  2. There will be a meeting of the Parents of the confirmation candidates tomorrow / today, Sunday, 8th July, after the 8.30am mass in the conference room on the first floor of the school building. Parents must attend this meeting along with their children who are to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

  3. The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Monday 9th July 2018 at 7pm in the parlour

  4. The Prayer Group welcomes you for Praise & Worship followed by a talk by Mrs Roweena Lewis on Tuesday 10th July after the 6.30pm mass. All are invited.

The Archdiocesan commission for women in collaboration with Sophia college is organising the Women’s Leadership training programme at Holy Cross High School, Kurla, from July 2 to September 02, 2018. Announcements 30th June-1st July

  1. The Senior Citizens will meet on Sunday July 1st, after the 10 am Mass in the school hall.

  2. Confirmation classes have already begun. There will be a meeting of the Parents of the confirmation candidates next Sunday, 8th July, after the 8.30 am mass in the conference room on the first floor of the school building. Parents must attend this meeting along with their children who are to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

  3. Tuesday 3rd July is the Solemnity of St. Thomas, the Apostle of India.

  4. The Prayer Group welcomes you for Praise & Worship followed by a talk by Fr. Avin Franklin on Tuesday 3rd July after the 6.30 pm mass. The topic is “Evangelising oneself to evangelise others”. All are invited.

  5. On Wednesday, 4th July, 25 Bishops will be visiting the Cathedral. His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias will preside over the 6:30 pm mass along with the Bishops and priests who will concelebrate with him. We invite you to attend this Mass in large numbers.

  6. St. Padre Pio’s Mass is scheduled for 7th July at 4pm in the Conference room on the 1st floor.

  7. The next meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council is postponed to 9th July 2018 at 7 pm. Advance notice is being given so that Parish councillors can make note of the change in date.

Announcements 23rd-24th June

  1. Tomorrow/ Today is celebrated as Laity Sunday in the Archdiocese of Bombay. There will be a special Thanksgiving Liturgy celebrated at the 10am mass where the PPC members will renew their commitment to the parish and the Church. We also pray that each one of us reflects Christ in our professional & private lives.

  2. The Divine Mercy Apostolate of the South Mumbai Deanery are organising a Recollection tomorrow / today (24th June) from 11am to 12.30pm at the Holy Name Cathedral. The speaker is Fr. Melroy Mendonca.

  3. The Prayer Group is organising a Eucharistic Adoration cum Healing service on Tuesday 26th June at 7pm in the church. All are invited.

  4. Friday 29th June is the Solemnity of Sts. Peter & Paul. It is also the 5th Anniversary of the Episcopal ordination of Bishop Dominic Savio Fernandes & Bishop John Rodrigues. Kindly remember to pray for them in your personal, family & community prayers.

  1. The Prayer Group invites you for Praise & Worship followed by a talk by Fr. Anthony J. Fernandes on the topic, “Loving as Jesus loves” on Tuesday, !9th June after the evening Mass.

  2. The Parish Youth Group will have a meeting with Fr. Avin on June 21st (Thursday) after the evening Mass in the parlour. Advance notice is being given so that the date may be reserved. Newcomers are also most welcome.

  3. Next Sunday is celebrated as Laity Sunday. There will be a special Thanksgiving Liturgy at the 10am Mass with a renewal of promises of the PPC members.

  4. The Divine Mercy Apostolate of the South Mumbai Deanery are organising a Recollection on Sunday 24th June from 11am to 12.30pm at the Holy Name Cathedral. The speaker is Fr. Melroy Mendonca.

  5. Snehalaya Family Service Centre has sent us the dates for the Marriage preparation courses from June to December 2018. Those planning to get married are required to do a Marriage preparation course at least 6 months prior to their marriage. Please see the notice board for details.

  6. Sophia College for women invites Catholic girl students to apply for admission to the First Year of Degree College BA, BSc, BMM, BSc (IT). They also have BSc in Hospitality Studies through Sophia Polytechnic. Please see the notice board for details.

The Parish would like to place on record our gratitude to all the religious & sisters from the parish & would like to welcome those who have newly been appointed to the convents and institutions within our parish. In a special way, we would like to thank Sr. Arina Gonsalves (RJM) & to Sr. Elizabeth Jacob (PSOL) who served on the Parish Pastoral Council as well & wish them God’s choicest blessings in their new ministerial assignments.

  2. There will be a meeting of the Caregivers’ group on Monday 11th June in the Parlour after the evening mass.

Announcements 2nd-3rd June

  1. Today is Corpus Christi - the feast of the Body & Blood of Jesus. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will be recommissioned at the 10 am Mass tomorrow/today. We have been blessed with 3 new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who will also be commissioned. Let us pray for them at this Mass and also at our personal and family prayers.

  2. From tomorrow/today, we revert to the Usual Mass timings Sundays: 6.30am, 7.30am (Konkani), 8.30am, 10am, 5pm (Konkani) & 6.30pm Weekdays: 6.30am, 7.30am, 1.15pm & 6.30pm

  3. We welcome Rev. Fr. Avin Franklin who has been appointed as an Assistant at the Cathedral of the Holy Name. We wish him God’s choicest blessings and a fruitful ministry at the Cathedral.

  4. In keeping with the theme of Corpus Christi, the Parish Prayer Group invites you to a teaching by Deacon Everest on Tuesday 5th June 2018 after the evening Mass. The topic is “The blood of Jesus – a source of blessing”

Announcements 28th/29th April 2018

  1. Please note that from this Monday 30th April, mass timings will be modified for the summer holidays. On weekdays, there will be only one morning mass at 7.00 a.m. The 1.15 p.m. and 6.30 pm masses continue as usual. On Sundays, from 6th May, the morning masses will be at 6.30, 7.30 and the last one at 9 am not the usual 10 am. The Sunday evening masses at 5.00 & 6.30 continue as usual. Intentions offered for weekday 6.30 & 7.30 a.m. and Sunday 8.30 and 10 am masses will be clubbed together at the respective modified masses.
  2. The Peace rally on 1st May for our deanery will be at St Michael’s Church, Mahim. It is organized by the Archdiocesan Commissions for awareness and prayer concerning heinous acts of rape and violence. Details are on the Notice Board. You are encouraged to attend.
  3. Our Parish Summer Program for children and families of interactive fun and relaxation is being organized by a dream team of dedicated parishioners. For details regarding the activities being planned please look up the Notice Board and the What’s App messages to community animators.
  4. The May month Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima Grotto from Mondays through Fridays, after the evening Mass. On Wednesday the Rosary will be recited after the novena.
  5. On Tuesday 1st May 2018, after Praise and Worship there will be a talk on intercessions by a member of the Bombay Service team. All are invited. In the month of May, the Prayer Group will conduct Praise & Worship of the Rosary.
  6. On 4th May, First Friday, there will be a Holy Half Hour in Konkani after the 5.30 p.m. mass and a Holy Hour in English after the evening mass.
  7. On Saturday 5th May, the St. Padre Pio’s mass will be at 4.00 p.m. in the Holy Name School Conference Room on the 1st floor.
  8. The Parish Council and Senior Citizens will not hold meetings in the month of May.

On weekdays, only one morning mass at 7.00 a.m. with combined intentions of the displaced 6.30 & 7.30 a.m. masses. The afternoon 1.15 p.m. mass and the 6.30 evening mass will continue as usual. On Sundays beginning 6th May, the 6.30 & 7.30 a.m. masses continue as usual, Later, only ONE mass at 9.00 a.m. Sunday evening masses continue as usual at 5.00 & 6.30 p.m. 2. A citizens “We Care” March on Monday 23rd April will start from the NCPA at 5 pm till 7pm. It is initiated and organized by conscientious women of all faiths, non-political and non-partisan with significant competent support. We can join this march to extend our support and also to arouse our individual consciences and that of all civil society and responsible authorities to the brutal raping of minor children and other such crimes against the weak and voiceless. 4. Peace rallies at various venues on 1st May are being organized by the Archdiocesan Commissions to highlight the heinous acts of rape and violence. Rally Details are on the Notice Board.

2 The Archdiocese Family Commission is organizing Families from our diocese to participate in a World Meeting of Families in Dublin in August, with two options. For the registration deadline and other details, please look up the Poster on the Main Porch Notice Board.

3.Our Parish Prayer Group will hold its usual Tuesday Praise and Worship on 17th April at 7 pm in the Cathedral followed by a talk on the fruits of the Holy Spirit by a Service team member.

  4. The C.C.R. has organized a Healing Retreat from Friday 13th April, 7.30 a.m. to Sunday 15th April till 5.00 p.m. at Vinalaya Retreat Centre, Andheri (E). For registration please contact any members of the parish prayer group.
